On Tuesday the 28th of October a group of year 10 students with an interest in the construction industry attend a half day excursion with Glass Co Canning Vale. Students were split into small groups rotating through three engaging and informative discussions.
These sessions included a factory walk through, where students got to see the production line in action AND a glass breaking demonstration. A follow up boardroom presentation allowed us to learn the background history and continuing growth of Glass Co. Students were offered an inside look into the company and a special heads up on future employment and training opportunities. We finished the day with a stroll through the show room before filling up on morning tea provided by Glass Co. Students each received a showbag full of goodies to remember a fun morning!
Through the networking of The Future Pathways team, Glass Co are now a proud work experience host and are exploring ways to support our students through meaningful traineeships, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities.
