During the 2025 term 3 holidays, CVC year 9 and 10 Italian Language Specialist students went on our first Italy Study Tour since 2019.
The students were hosted by Italian families in the city of Carpi in Emilia Romagna and attended lessons and activities at an Italian high school ‘Liceo Fanti’. In addition to the time spent with host families and at school, as a group the students visited the cities of Milan, Florence, Lucca, Pisa, Modena, Verona and Venice. They participated in educational visits to Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper, the Science and Technology Musuem of Milan, the Carpi City Museum, the Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence, the Ferrari Museum in Modena, a traditional balsamic vinegar producer, a Parmigiano Reggiano cheese factory and the Palazzo Ducale in Venice.
Other highlights were preparing fresh tortellini with the volunteers from the local parish in Carpi, attending a science talk from a microbiologist, sharing their presentations about Australia with Italian students, the farewell event and navigating the winding streets in Venice.
