Over the last two weeks our Year 9 and 10 STEM students have experienced hands on experience with coding, robotics and drones courtesy of the WA Mining Club STEM team.
During the first session, students were introduced to DJI RoboMaster, with its omnidirectional wheels, camera, laser shooter and more. They then were given a go at controlling the DJIs, with obstacles for the students to race around.
This week students were split into teams to complete a block coding challenge for some very advanced looking XGO Mini Robot Dogs!
The WA Mining Club STEM Smart Program encourages students to explore the value of studying STEM subjects through Years 11 and 12 and the many career opportunities that are created by doing so. The in-class sessions focus on robotics and software programming with an emphasis on having fun but at the same time gaining valuable knowledge.
