On Friday, 17 March, our Year 7 and 8 Visual Arts Enrichment students visited the Sculpture by the Sea exhibition. The show is a yearly event that brings artworks from National and International artists into the beautiful surrounds of Cottesloe.

The students worked their way around the exhibition, completing a range of activities designed to ignite conversation, encourage them to pay attention to their surroundings, and develop their burgeoning skills in responding to the works of others.

There were some favourites of the day, including the large, stylised rams head through to the small bronze sculpture referencing the book, Where the Wild Things Are. The mirrored labyrinth was a delight to all as they photographed their warped and twisted reflections.

The day was windy but sunny, and everyone enjoyed exploring the works, some large, and unusual and others quirky and fun.
