Murdoch ambassador Cindy who is studying her PHD on microbiology had student build a plasticine model of an animal cell (pictured top left).

Last Friday our Year 9 students experienced a ‘career taster’ day here at CVC. In conjunction with the Murdoch University Outreach Officer and Future Students Officer, 8 student ambassadors currently studying at Murdoch University held a series of different workshops for our students where they gave the Year 9’s an overview of their own career pathways and aspirations.

Our students heard from ambassadors in the following fields:

  • Sports Science – If you believe the body can heal and want to help people with the best available evidence, then…
  • Science – If you are a hard worker, love to find like-minded people, and enjoy sharing your discoveries with others…
  • Finance & Business – If you want to enter the shark tank and collaborate with a team to come up with a winning pitch…
  • Games Art and Design – If you are creative, want to find like-minded people, and enjoy sharing your imaginative ideas with others…
  • Law – If you want to help people who are treated unfairly and are the peacemaker in your friend group…
  • Animal Science – If you find you belong in nature and want the flexibility to make a difference anywhere in the world…
  • Graphic Design – If you aspire to have a positive impact on society through creativity and innovation…
  • Criminology – If you want to see the world differently and love to intrigue people in somewhat grisly crime conversation…

The day has certainly given our Year 9’s new ideas and dreams about their own future career paths.
