Two of our Year 12 students Erfan and Jordan, are currently pursuing a Certificate III in IDMT (Cyber Security) through South Metro TAFE.
Erfan spoke to staff in our VET office for assistance, which helped him to successfully apply for the opportunity. What he enjoys most about the course is getting together with like-minded people and learning about the future of technology and how to prepare for it. He believes this course will be of benefit to his future because he wishes to pursue a career in this field.
Jordan has always enjoyed computers and technology, and after seeing a Connect notice promoting the course, he decided he should apply. Jordan thoroughly enjoys the practical applications of the course, especially those on the assessment list. Jordan has performed networking and the setting up of virtual machines to then connecting them together with a Microsoft server in a virtual environment. Jordan would also love to pursue a career in this field and believes this opportunity is a great first step.
TAFE offers a work placement option after successful completion of the Cert III course, where students are placed with a company full time for two years while they complete their Certificate IV.
