Canning Vale College was proud to be invited to the 3rd Annual Bahasa Indonesia Student Awards event at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia on Friday June 20.

The Consulate hosts the event in order to promote and encourage the study of Indonesian in Western Australian schools, and it is a well-attended evening with performances, a cooking demonstration, dinner and amazing guest speakers, not to mention three return flights to Bali as the grand prizes.

Particularly inspiring speeches were delivered by Sally Dawkins, Director of the Western Australian Office for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade as well as Mrs Magenta Marshall, MLA who studied Indonesian at high school and university before entering politics.

Year 12 student Mostafa Talpur was one of 7 students at the event to receive an award based on their excellent Year 11 results and was the only Year 12 representing a public school. CVC were also presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for our contribution to promoting the Indonesian language. A huge thank you to the team at the Consulate for rewarding the hard work and efforts of our students and team!
