At the end of last term, Year 10, 11 and 12 students of Indonesian were invited to the UWA Indonesian Day. This day is organised by UWA Asian Studies staff and the Australia Indonesia Youth Association to provide high school students with an opportunity to use their Indonesian skills and learn something new.
Students heard from Ibu Theresia Gondoseputro from the University, a representative from ACICIS who spoke about opportunities for studying in Indonesia as well as Clarice Campbell who now lives and works in Jakarta as Lead Advisor for Skills of the Australia-Indonesia partnership (IA-CEPA). Students also participated in practical workshops for speaking as well as listening and viewing. The group were also able to enjoy a taste of uni life on the Oak Lawn at UWA for lunch before heading back to catch the bus.
