Last week a group of Year 9 students attended North Metro Tafe for an introduction to Art and Design courses and careers.

Lecturer Brendon introduced our students to traditional typesetting and printing machines. They then used a range of different printing techniques to create coasters and cards in the print studio.

After lunch at the cafe, our students met Interior Design lecturer, Carly. Carly talked them through some of the skills that an Interior Designer needs, such as communication and organisation skills before letting them loose to create a mood board for their own ultimate bedroom. Through her discussions on colour and textures, students were able to build colour palettes and themes for their boards.

A great day out! These students certainly now have a better understanding of the range of careers in Design at NMTAFE .
