The CVC Year 10 STEM Science class has again been offered the opportunity to be involved with the University of Western Australia in the AGL/Perth Energy Solar Car Challenge.
Students were tasked with researching, designing, constructing, and documenting the process to create a solar powered car that would be raced around a figure eight track, while carrying a full soda can and ensuring the safety of an egg passenger.
Approximately 60 teams from across Western Australia will compete against each other on the 26th and 27th October to determine the fastest solar car. This is the third time CVC students have competed at the event. During the 2022 event students placed in the top 16 fastest cars.
Although every team wants to win the event, awards are also given for most engineered, most eco-friendly car, best egg passenger design, team effort, accompanying video and report and crash.
Last year Canning Vale College won the award for best accompanying video and report.

This year we invested in a track of our own and hope for a place on the winner’s podium! Stay tuned for results!
