Congratulations to the graduating class of 2020 who persisted and rose to the challenge despite the difficulties of an unprecedented year.
Our Year 12 ATAR students were outstanding in 2020, achieving a median ATAR of 80.2 (TISC) which puts Canning Vale College in the Top 20 Public Schools based on median ATAR results.
Amongst our 15 ‘like schools’ (like schools are schools with a similar index of community socio-educational advantage) Canning Vale College ranked 2nd in terms of median ATAR performance.
Some of the individual successes included College ATAR Dux Tej Balasubramani achieving an ATAR of 98.95. Tej along with his fellow CVC graduate and twin brother Tejas, have both gone on to study Medicine at Curtin University this year.
15 CVC students achieved an ATAR over 90, a further 26 students scoring between 80 and 90, and 12 students achieved an ATAR of between 70 and 80 (a total of 53 students out of 82 who undertook ATAR courses). These numbers represent front door entry into the major West Australian Universities.
A number of students across WA were awarded a School Curriculum and Standards Authority Certificate of Excellence, Distinction or Merit. These awards recognise individual excellence at the end of senior secondary schooling. 22 of these awards went to CVC students. Well done to the following:

Congratulations must also go to our Vocational Education and Training (VET) and General students who successfully completed many Certificates II, III and IV courses. Many of these students have gone on to undertake further study this year or have entered in to apprenticeship programs and the full time work force.
In acknowledging these outstanding results, CVC would like to congratulate all of our 2020 Year 12 students. We would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to our students’ families, and the teaching and support staff at CVC who have worked with and guided these students over their journey at CVC. We are proud to offer a broad range of pathways, equipping our students with the knowledge, skills and values to transition to university, further training or employment.
