Congratulations to Declan Somers in Year 10 who competed at the State Athletic Track & Field Championships and placed 1st in the U17 2000 metre Steeplechase, making him the State Champion. He also placed 3rd in the U17 3000m. Declan will now prepare for the National Championships next month in Sydney.
Declan said his training group and coaches have been most supportive in helping him get to where he is today. He attributes his success to consistent hard work, training and never giving up.
