Last Friday, 6 girls from our Year 7 Specialist STEM program were offered the opportunity to attend an exclusive SheCodes workshop, hosted by Murdoch University at SpaceCubed in Perth CBD.
The event brought together girls from several schools who were interested in being introduced to the world of coding. The girls worked in teams, mixing with peers from other schools. Together, they used the Python programming language to create the basis of a video game. The task involved problem solving, communication skills and resilience to achieve their goal (especially after fixing one programming error and being presented with several more!).
Despite being the youngest group there, our girls gave it a go and we are so proud of the way they conducted themselves and represented our school.
