During Languages Week, students and staff celebrated the many languages we speak and learn through a variety of activities.
We started the week with a quiz for students about World Languages. Our Pasta versus Noodle Eating Competition was a hit with Year 11 student, Rojin Didari, coming in first with her speed eating technique. Our World Travellers made it to Italy, Antarctica and Indonesia via green screen technology. The Sistine Chapel painting competition produced some colourful artworks and the Karaoke and K-Pop involved both dancing and singing. Origami was a hit and there were paper balloons and stars galore!
The winners of our Education Perfect competition are:
- Pushp Gupta – winner of the Year 7 and 8 competition
- Roman Kurniadi and Rhiane Shaira Abay – winners of the Year 9 competition
- Claudia Vale – winner of the Year 10-12 competition
Finally, a huge congratulations to the very well-organised Indonesian volleyball team who were successful in taking the win over Italy this year! Thanks to our two referees and helpers, Rojin Didari and Oliver Birrell.
Finally, congratulations to our staff quiz winners, our library officers Ms Nybo Mrs Farrar, who both achieved 100%.
Thanks to all of our participants and those who made Languages Week a success.
Mrs Pavy – Head of Languages
