Our two Year 11 Children, Family and Community classes recently completed a task where they were to address a community crisis. They looked at domestic and family violence and the impact it has on the victims, then how they could bring awareness to the issue and help those that suffer from the hands of a loved one.
Students collected donations and sewed bags to make up care packages (containing toiletries and warm accessories) for donation to the charity ‘Holy Spirit Choir and Street Ministry’ and ‘Holly Spirit of Freedom’.
The response was overwhelming and last Tuesday these respective charities accepted 47 individual care packages that will be delivered to a variety of people in need, including homeless people who gather around Wellington Square in the Perth CBD.
