ANZAC Day Assemblies
In Week 1 and 2 of Term 2, CVC staff and students gathered together to represent the youth of the ANZAC spirit. The three commemorative assemblies enable students to reflect and honour the service and sacrifice of all Australians who have served in war or peacekeeping operations, both past and present.
Speeches were made by student councillors, who reflected on the significance and importance of this national occasion. Terry Healy MLA Southern River and Yaz Mubarakai MLA Jandakot assisted in the presentation of the wreaths. As the the Last Post was played, the flag was lowered and all in attendance observed one minute of silence. CVC’s Vocal Ensemble performed a harmonised rendition of the Australian National Anthem, to close the assemlies.
