Cadet Students Take Part in Clean Up Australia Day
On the 27th of February, students involved in the CVC Cadets WA Program spent their afternoon collecting and sorting rubbish around CVC as part of Clean Up Australia Day.
Our students recorded what and how many items of rubbish they collected, which they will then sumbit to Clean Up Australia. Last year alone over 2000 schools participated in Clean Up Australia Day events, making an immense contribution to the 14,139 tonnes of rubbish removed in 2017. Schools Clean Up Day is a fun and engaging way to teach our children about the responsible disposal of rubbish, resource recovery and the repercussions of rubbish dumped irresponsibly in the local environment.
Our Cadets WA Program provides an opportunity, particularly within the secondary school system, for young people to participate in interesting and challenging structured training that provides practical life skills, develops leadership, teamwork and initiative skills as well as fostering qualities of community responsibility and service. Throughout the year, students in the Cadets Program will take part in a variety of other acitivites and initiatives.
