Amritha collage2

Last weekend our very own Year 11 student Amritha Chetty attended the Zero2Hero Red Cape Ball where she was invited to speak on behalf of Camp Hero. Amritha attended Camp Hero for five days during the last school holidays, at Nanga Bush Camp in Dwellingup, along with 39 other 15-18 year olds from around WA.

Amritha first heard about Camp Hero from a fellow CVC School Council member who had been to the camp herself, and found it life changing. Amritha decided she wanted to be part of something bigger and become the best possible version of herself, to learn from the camp and apply those skills to everyday living. She is now prepared and motivated to achieve everything she wants in life, the first being recently named a College Captain for 2021.

The Red Cape Ball is a major fundraising event for the Zero2Hero Foundation, held at Optus Stadium with over 700 people in attendance. Amritha and her mother were special guests of the evening as Amritha was chosen to be the voice of the camp, and present her experiences to the audience. With a few nerves to begin with, Amritha addressed the room confidently and spoke clearly.

Amritha looks forward to drawing on her experiences and skills gained at camp into bettering the school community. 'This camp has become an integral part of who I am now, and will be in the future, I would highly recommend this camp to anyone who is able to go, it could be the turning point in their lives'.
