CVC Cadets finish term 3 with well-deserved camp in Dwellingup
To finish term 3, our Bushranger Cadets enjoyed three days at Dare Adventure Camp in Dwellingup.
As would be expected, there was lots of singing on the bus as they departed school just before 9am. The students arrived and set up their tents like proficient campers. The camp involved a range of fun, skill and teamwork activities, such as an obstacle course, orienteering and abseiling.
As usual the Cadets also participated in nature conservation activities such as helping to clean up the dam. The teamwork and enthusiasm abounded as they cheered each other on to overcome obstacles and even challenged themselves in the mud pit crawl.
They ate burgers and cinnamon apples cooked over the coals of the camp fire. Some studying happened, but there was guitar lessons and lots of laughter. It rained intermittently, but it didn’t spoil the mood. The Cadets displayed some exciting moves on the flying fox- upside down was the challenge of the day. In between activities, they also managed to practise volleyball spikes and basketball shots. To keep warm there were lots of hot two-minute noodles and warm milo.
The camp was an amazing success and thoroughly enjoyed by all students. We look forward to the next adventure in Term 4!
