OFFICIAL OPENING OF NEW FACILITIES AT CANNING VALE COLLEGE
On Wednesday 18th September we hosted the official opening of the new facilities at Canning Vale College.
Canning Vale College has been fortunate to be supported by the State Government with a $2 million contribution toward a facilities upgrade. This includes a new Student Engagement and Support building as well as an extension to our previous College boardroom, 5 new multi-purpose courts, an upgrade to the existing 3 courts and additional parking on site. These improvements have benefited our students by enhancing the high care support the College continues to offer its community, and increasing their access to first class sporting facilities.
As the College of choice in the Canning Vale area we are proud to offer these new facilities which will allow us to continue to focus on increasing both our academic opportunities and our social and emotional support for all students.
Thank you to all our guests who attended the opening, including the Hon. Sue Ellery Minister for Education, Gary Anderson Regional Assistant Executive Director, CVC Board Chair and City of Gosnells Councillor David Goode, our local Primary School Principals, Terry Healy MLA Southern River and Yaz Mubarakai MLA Jandakot.
The Minister, in her address acknowledged the supportive and inclusive culture of the College and clearly valued and believes in what goes on in our buildings as more important than the buildings themselves.
A special thank you to Year 11 student Stephanie Wood for her eloquent Acknowledgement of Country, to Year 11 specialist music students Miranda Miney and Hallee Pileggi (directed by Mrs Harrison) for a fabulous vocal and guitar performance and to media teacher Mr Fic and Year 9 student Juan Rico Ferrer for videography and editing of a wonderful video of events.
