CVC CIRCUS TROUPE PERFORM AT 2019 PERTH FRINGE FESTIVAL
The Canning Vale College ‘Act Belong Commit’ Circus Troupe, recently had the honour of performing as part of the 2019 Perth Fringe World Festival – the third largest fringe festival in the world!
The Troupe performed two shows over the weekend of the 16th and 17th of February, to sold out crowds in the Big Top at the Woodside Pleasure Garden.
Their show 'The David Attenborough School Yard Experience' explore the zany land we call 'School'. We follow three wonderfully bumbling wildlife documentary guides as they humorously explore the challenges, triumphs and hilarious disasters experienced by kids today as they try to fit into the social school herd.
Family, friends, fellow students, children and members of the public were enthralled with the side-splitting funny antics of the Troupe's talented clowns and amazing circus performers as they jumped, spun, flipped, and crashed through a parody of a typical school day. It was an amazingly colourful and wildly imaginative show designed by kids for kids, capturing the humorous animal spirit of a school's concrete jungle.
Our Troupe performed in a manner that was highly entertaining and well received by the crowd. A number of artists from other shows also came to see our students perform and their feedback was extremely positive regarding the standard of their skills and acting.
The two sold out Weekend shows capped off an amazing 2018 season for the Canning Vale College Circus Troupe. To perform alongside truly gifted professional touring circus shows and in an authentic big top arena, was an incredible experience.
Students not only got a sense of what it’s like to be a successful performer in the Arts industry, but they also received real world experience of working with technicians and professional venues, with live audiences. It was truly a holistic endeavour that has a huge impact on a student’s experience and will not be easily forgotten.
