LEAP Hospitality Students Visit Perth's Prestigious 5 Star Hotels
On Friday 16th November our upper school LEAP students rounded off their Hospitality course with an annual excursion to two of Perth's prestigious 5 Star hotels.
This year we had the pleasure of visiting The Hyatt Regency Hotel followed by the Duxton Hotel.
The Hyatt’s Human Resource Department were very kind in assisting us with our request of a guided behind the scenes tour of the Hotel. Students arrived at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in the morning to be welcomed and taken to the training room where the students were given an informative insight to the Hyatt Regency Hotel and the Hyatt International as well as career opportunities at the Hyatt.
The excursion consisted of a tour in various eatery’s, a selection of different guest rooms including the Regency Club (unfortunately the President Suite was unavailable), the swimming and recreation areas, ending with a question and answer session back in the Training Room.
Following on from the Hyatt Regency Hotel, we returned to the Duxton Hotel, where the tour highlighted the theorical units of competency undertaken in the classroom into the real workings of the hotel, and how they relate to the different sections of the hotel. Students also toured the different rooms available to the public from the most expensive to the standard room. The tour at the Duxton Hotel was concluded by a buffet lunch at the world-famous Firewater Grille Restaurant.
I would like to thank all the students for their hard work this year. I say farewell to those who are leaving and wish you all the very best in your future endeavours.
