Congratulations to Year 12 student Joshua Norwell who after auditioning for The National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA), has been accepted into their 2019 Bachelor Program - securing one of only 20 available spots.
NICA is a national arts training institute that offers Australia's only Bachelor of Circus Arts (the highest level of accredited circus training available in Australia). The three year course is accredited by Swinburne University of Technology and the institute is located in Melbourne.
The course attracts applicants from across Australia and the world and entry into the first year is highly competitive. Traditonally NICA does not accept high school graduates, favouring individuals with further life and work experience, so for Josh to secure a spot based on the work he has done in the CVC Circus Arts Program is a fantastic achievement.
Josh has dedicated his school life to performance arts and said getting into the NICA was the next step in his career. "Watching Cirque du Soleil from a young age, I have always wanted to run away to the circus." he said.
