Success for students in National Geography Competition
Geography students from Years 10, 11 and 12 participated in the National Geography Competition this year to test their geographical knowledge and skills.
They all did a great job, with a number of CVC students performing to a very high level.
In Year 12 Kaitlyn Ridley was awarded a Distinction Certificate, placing her in the top 20% of the nation. There was also one distinction awarded in Year 11 to Dayal Singh, who was in the top 14% of the nation.
In Year 10 there were two High Distinctions awarded, one to Christopher Round, who scored in the top 3% of the nation and Kelly Pillay, who was in the top 6% of the nation.
There was also two Distinctions awarded in Year 10, one to Connor McBean and the other to Sarah Fee.
Well done to all students who participated this year in the National Geography Competition. Geography is an important subject which develops a students’ understanding of the spatial interrelationships between people and place. We look forward to these budding geographers expanding and developing their geographical skills and knowledge.
